Slalom Racing at MCC
Manchester Canoe Club became a pioneering club in the sport of canoe slalom when it first gained popularity in 1939, and slalom has been a big part of the club ever since. MCC hosts national slalom races for divisions 3 and 4 during the racing season.
We welcome people of all ages and abilities - our club paddlers are active in all the canoe slalom divisions, from Division 4 to Prem, and ages from 7 years old to Veteran. Many of our junior members go on to the Canoe Slalom England Talent Programme.

Training Sessions
We run several on-site training sessions each week, for both adult and junior members. Training at the club is facilitated by a permanent slalom course, with a number of easily adjusted training gates. The section is floodlit and training continues throughout the year. Indoor training is also held at the local Hazel Grove swimming pool during the winter months.
Please get in touch if you are an adult paddler interested in joining our slalom sessions.
Our Junior section (Marlins) is particularly active - visit the dedicated Marlins page below for details of what we can offer our junior members.
Boats & Kit Hire
We have a wide range of slalom boats available for hire, from junior to XL slalom boats, both C1 and K1 (all the regulation 3.5 metres in length). These can be hired during club sessions or taken off-site to races at the club member standard rates. We can also supply slalom paddles, spraydecks, buoyancy aids and helmets if needed.
For junior members, boat and kit hire is included in our excellent value Marlins subscription.
